Factor Meals Review in 2025

I have used meal delivery services for the last six years to ensure that I eat nutritious, balanced dinners every day because I do not like cooking. Since 2021, Factor has been my go-to choice, and after nearly four years, I can confidently say I have no plans to stop subscribing.
What initially attracted me to Factor was its quick prep time, single-serving meals, and diverse menu. As someone who lives alone and would rather not spend time chopping, sautéing, or frying, I appreciated the fact that all I needed was a microwave.
Now, after ordering 68 boxes, I can firmly say that the subscription is worth it, as it seamlessly fits into my lifestyle.
Convenience and Customization
Factor’s biggest selling points are its ease of use and flexibility. Signing up takes less than 10 minutes, and you can personalize your meals based on dietary preferences such as keto, high-protein, or low-carb.
I personally opt for protein-plus and calorie-smart meals to meet my nutrition goals. While your first box offers meal selections between six and 18 meals, you have the flexibility to order as few as four or as many as 36 meals per week, adjusting as needed.
Meal selection is another area where Factor excels. Each week, I have around 40 meals to choose from, and I can pick multiple servings of my favorites. Factor also offers breakfast options, smoothies, juices, and shakes, which have expanded significantly over the years.
I personally enjoy their cinnamon roll pancakes and protein shakes, particularly the chocolate and vanilla flavors.
Quality and Taste
The convenience of Factor is one of its major advantages, but the taste and quality of the meals are what keep me coming back. The meals are flavorful, well-portioned, and packed with protein and fiber to keep you full.
Unlike many frozen dinners, Factor meals arrive fresh, never frozen, which helps maintain their taste and texture. I have never had to add extra seasoning or side dishes to a Factor meal, as they are well-balanced on their own.
Three of my go-to meals are the Smoky Gouda Chicken, Chicken Alfredo Pasta, and Loaded Bacon Shredded Chicken. These dishes taste restaurant-quality, with tender meats and perfectly seasoned vegetables.
That said, not every dish is a winner. For example, I was not a fan of the Meatballs & BBQ Sauce in my latest box. However, this was due to personal taste preferences rather than a quality issue.
Delivery and Packaging
Factor delivers meals nationwide to 48 states, with options from Saturday to Wednesday, depending on your zip code. Meals arrive in an insulated cardboard box with gel packs to keep them fresh.
I’ve left my delivery out for up to eight hours, and the meals were still cold when I unpacked them. They stay fresh in the fridge for up to seven days.
Most of the time, my order is accurate, though I have had occasional delays or missing meals. Fortunately, Factor’s customer service has been accommodating in these cases, typically issuing a refund or credit.
The only downside is that about half of the packaging materials—such as the insulation and gel packs—are not recyclable.
Cooking Process
One of my favorite aspects of Factor is that meals are ready to eat in just a few minutes. Most require only two minutes in the microwave, followed by a brief cooldown.
For those who prefer a different method, Factor meals can also be heated in the oven. Since they are fresh rather than frozen, they maintain their texture and flavor well. Unlike with other microwave meals, I’ve never had to reheat a Factor dish due to uneven cooking.
Ingredient Sourcing and Nutrition
Factor provides full nutritional information and ingredient lists for every meal, including allergen details. However, the company is not entirely transparent about where its ingredients come from.
Factor does outline a five-step approval process for ingredients, banning over 160 items that do not meet its standards. Subscribers also have access to free 20-minute consultations with Factor’s dietitians, though I have not personally used this service.
Customer Service Experience
Factor’s customer service has been mostly positive, though I’ve had a couple of frustrating experiences. Contacting them is easy, and I prefer calling to chat support. Whenever I had a missing meal, I received a refund without issue.
However, canceling an unwanted delivery has been hit or miss. Sometimes, a representative canceled my order immediately, while other times, I was met with resistance. Overall, though, my interactions with customer service have been satisfactory.
Factor vs. HelloFresh
The same company owns HelloFresh, which I tried before subscribing to Factor. Unlike Factor, HelloFresh provides meal kits that require cooking. While it might be a better fit for families, I found that the ingredients often went bad quickly, and there were frequent missing items.
Additionally, the recipes began to feel repetitive. Though my sister enjoys her HelloFresh subscription, it was not the right fit for me.
Who Should Try Factor?
Factor is ideal for:
- People who dislike cooking or are too busy to cook
- Individuals or couples who want healthy, single-serving meals
- Those following keto, high-protein, or low-carb diets
However, Factor may not be the best choice for:
- Large families
- People who enjoy cooking their own meals
- Vegans or vegetarians, as there are limited plant-based options
Final Thoughts
I am very happy with the addition of Factor to my routine. The meals are healthy, filling, and easy to prepare, making it easier for me to maintain a nutritious diet without the hassle of cooking. The rotating menu keeps things fresh, and I love that I can skip weeks when needed. While the service is not perfect, the benefits far outweigh any minor inconveniences.
If you’re looking to simplify meal prep and eat healthier without sacrificing flavor, I highly recommend giving Factor a try.
